Trentino: Picturesque nature amongst the mountains

Trentino is probably one of Italy’s most diverse regions. About halfway between Milan and Venice, Trentino reaches from the northern tip of Lake Garda into the Dolomite Mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Immersed in the magnificent landscape of the Natural Reserve located at the foot of the Dolomites of Brenta and the Adamello Range, Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most famous ski resorts all over Italy, equipped to ensure a perfect holiday for the whole family. Magical landscapes surround this pearl of Trentino Alto Adige: lakes, small valleys, streams, forests, towering cliffs, glaciers and gracious mountain towns full of traditions and genuine flavors. The activities that can be practiced in this area, apart from skiing, are almost innumerable: snowboarding, snowshoeing, climbing, mountaineering, Nordic walking, and, for those who prefer other activities, paragliding or hang gliding, ice skating, horseback riding, mountain biking and rafting.

The ski center Latemar is located in the Val di Fiemme and the Eggental Valley and offers a great panoramic view over the mountains. One of the many benefits of the resort is the 550-meter-long Obereggen Snowpark, suited for snowboarders, which offers everything from halfpipes, boardercross, rails, box, wallrides and kickers. In the meantime, children can enjoy sledge runs, a baby park and the “Fun Park”.

Passo San Pellegrino is a wonderland all year round. In the winter it offers a great deal of ski slopes suited for all skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts. Children can be amazed by snow tubing, while adults try alpine skiing. Under the ski slopes there is a little magical town called Falcade, which offers numerous shops, restaurants, bars and a skating rink. Passo San Pallegrino shows its true colours in the summer. You can gaze at the wide, green valley with lush forests, immense meadows, grazing animals, Alpine lakes, beautiful views of the Dolomites all while hiking at high altitudes.

One of the most beautiful places in Italy, not just Trentino, is the breathtaking Lake Garda. Surrounded by the Dolomites this place is the perfect vacation spot for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful nature. Among the must-see things is Arboretum Arco, a botanical garden which houses about 150 species of arboreal and shrubby plants from all over the world. The views from the surrounding mountains over the lake are something worth seeing and are reachable by hiking and rock climbing. An experience on Lake Garda is incomplete without a catamaran ride and wakeboarding. The trip to Italy is best concluded by indulging in all the amazing food they have to offer.
